The question that everyone (those who are interested in Guild Wars 2 at least) is probably asking themselves: “When will it release?”. And unfortunately, at the time of writing, no answer is known yet.  The beta is already in progress and “soon” it will be time for the beta weekends.

So yesterday, I took my Sun Certified Java Programmer exam or (Oracle Certified Java Programmer, whatever, the name is the only difference really!). This is a certification exam to "show" that you're capable of understanding and programming Java. Now, this usually is a formality, for me as well, I've already done multiple projects with Java. But it's always nice to have and show. Anyway, I'll be giving my view of the exam and what I did to prepare myself for it. I'm sure it's interesting to read for people who still need to do their exam!

All this below allowed me to get a final score of 90% on the exam itself.

I recently finished a project for my job where I've learned yet another new technology (actually 2, but more on that later). This technology is Spring Batch. Now, for people who aren't familiar with the word 'batch', it basically means executing a number of steps that will be executed one after the other. This is useful when you need to process certain data in a particular order. Such as, this data must first go through step 1 so step 2 can then use the ouput from step 1 as its input.

For a project at work, I had to migrate a MySQL database to a DB2 database (originally MySQL -> Oracle, hence the explanation for Oracle as well). Now, obviously I shouldn't have to fill in all the fields and related data. We're talking about a database with over 100.000 records. I realise this isn't much though, but it's still more than enough to justify a real migration. So I had a few possibilities:

In this article, I will give my opinion about the gameplay in Battlefield 3. While my previous article was more about the new Battlelog system, I think the actual gameplay is more interesting. My review will be about the multiplayer part of the game. I haven't really played the singleplayer yet (except for the first mission) since the game is meant for multiplayer. I probably will give the singleplayer a try soon, but for now, I suppose the gameplay will be the same anyway.

Three days after buying Battlefield 3, I thought it was time for a small review of my experiences with so far. In the next few weeks, I'll be making more posts when I have something interesting to tell, but for now, I'll just include small pieces of information about the different elements of the game.

or should I say Welcome x.0? I really can't recall the how many'th time this is that I've restarted this website. Previous times, I had excuses like school, work, not enough time, not interested enough and so on. This time however, I do have a valid excuse! The excuse this time is that I decided to check out Drupal. Some friends from university started to use it and I decided I should check it out as well.
